Digital Marketing Workshop Syllabus

 This is the overall syllabus for the Digital Marketing Workshop that we are conducting for MBA students in KMC college.

Workshop Structure & Breakdown

Day 1: Digital Marketing Strategy & Audience Persona

  • Theory (30 mins): Introduction to digital marketing, situational analysis, competitor digital audits, and target audience definition (RACE framework & customer personas).
  • Practical (30 mins): Students select a real or hypothetical business, define 3 core digital objectives, and draft a initial customer persona.

Day 2: Content Planning & Editorial Calendars with Notion

  • Theory (20 mins): Principles of content marketing, ToFu/MoFu/BoFu funnels, and managing editorial calendars.
  • Practical (40 mins): Set up a Notion workspace. Create a Content Calendar board/database with columns for Platform, Content Type, Target Persona, Publishing Date, and Status.

Day 3: Website Creation (Blogger) & Content Drafting

  • Theory (20 mins): Role of owned media, blogs, domain structures (gTLDs vs. ccTLDs like .com.np), and web architecture.
  • Practical (40 mins): Set up a free blog on Blogger.com. Design a basic layout and publish an initial practice blog post based on the Notion content plan.

Day 4: Custom Domain (.com.np) & Cloudflare DNS Integration

  • Theory (15 mins): Fundamentals of DNS, IP routing, Content Delivery Networks (CDNs), and SSL security.
  • Practical (45 mins):
    • Add the .com.np domain to a free Cloudflare account.
    • Update nameservers at register.com.np to Cloudflare.
    • Map Blogger custom domain settings by configuring CNAME records (for www and security verification) and A records (Google IPs) inside Cloudflare DNS.
    • Enable Cloudflare's Always Use HTTPS and set SSL/TLS mode to Flexible/Full.

Day 5: Search Engine Optimization (SEO) & Web Analytics

  • Theory (20 mins): On-page SEO strategies, keyword research, meta descriptions, site mapping, and digital tracking concepts.
  • Practical (40 mins): Apply SEO best practices to the Blogger site (custom URLs, search descriptions, alt tags). Configure search preferences and explore integrating tracking tools (e.g., Google Search Console / Analytics).

Day 6: Social Media Marketing & Campaign Strategy

  • Theory (20 mins): Multi-channel digital campaigns, organic vs. paid media channels, and budgeting strategies.
  • Practical (40 mins): Design social media post mockups, map them across platforms in the Notion content calendar, and draft a high-level digital campaign budget.

Day 7: Integrated Project Presentation & Audit

  • Practicum Showcase (60 mins): Individual or group presentations covering the comprehensive project scope:
    • Company Profile & Audit
    • Live Website (.com.np via Blogger & Cloudflare)
    • Notion Content Calendar & Strategy
    • SEO & Budget Recommendations

Day 2: Content Planning & Editorial Calendars with Notion

  Part 1: Theory 1. What is Content Marketing? Definition: Creating and sharing useful, interesting, and regular online material (text, photos, videos) to attract and engage customers. Main Goal: Help customers solve problems and build trust so they buy from you later. Example: Bad Approach: Posting "Buy my organic tea now for $10!" every single day. Content Marketing Approach: Posting a video showing "5 Health Benefits of Drinking Green Tea Daily," then suggesting your tea brand at the end. 2. The Content Marketing Funnel (ToFu / MoFu / BoFu) Customers go through stages before buying. You must create different content for each stage. Top of Funnel (ToFu) – Awareness Stage: Goal: Get attention from people who do not know your business yet. Focus: Educational, helpful, or entertaining content. No direct selling. Format: Short social posts, infographics, basic blog articles, reels. Example (Bakery): "5 Simple Tips to Store Fresh Bread ...
